Helen (Life Links Project Leader)

My role is to make sure the Life Links project succeeds – as simple as that!  From ensuring we have a robust infrastructure in place, to planning and rolling out a relentless awareness raising campaign, to putting in place evaluation so we can demonstrate the benefit we have to individual and the overall health and care economies.  I have 20 years experience of working for various public and private sector organisations in marketing, project management and public engagement roles.

Helen (Life Links Advisor)

My role as the advisor for Life Links Cheshire East is mostly office-based, though I sometimes attend events and meetings on behalf of Life Links.

A lot of what I do involves talking to people who want to refer into Life Links and professionals who are interested in finding out more, I am responsible for taking new referrals details and safely and securely transmitting the information to our coordinators.  Managing various marketing and communications such as; updating social media pages, and managing the newsletter, reporting statistics to our commissioner and over seers.

I love every aspect of my role because its so varied. I especially love talking to our customers and helping them get the advice and help they need. The team is fantastic and I am lucky to be involved in such a brilliant project.

John (Senior Wellbeing Coordinator)

As the Senior Wellbeing co-ordinator for the ‘North’ of Cheshire East, I am responsible for  promoting the service through outreach and building relationships and referral pathways with local appropriate local partners, and generally ensuring the viability and sustainability of the service for the future.  In addition, I also mentor and support a small, team of Life links coordinators in whatever way I can.

My work experience since leaving university includes working for the ‘then’ Macclesfield Borough council housing department, co-ordinating seven community- based day care centres for local people in the early stages of dementia for Age UK, Co-ordinating the Age UK Cheshire East Home help and foot care services, working as Dementia Support Manager and Support Services Manager for the Alzheimer’s Society, followed by a period as the Health and wellbeing co-ordinator for Macclesfield-based with the nursing and GP teams at Waters Green Medical Centre. I also helped to establish the new Dementia Health and wellbeing service for age UK Cheshire East in April 2015.

On a personal level, I am a passionate cyclist and qualified cycle mechanic. I also enjoy cooking, music (Depeche mode and the Cure-very sad!), and I love curry and nights out at the cinema!

Steph (Senior Wellbeing Coodinator)

I am the senior wellbeing coordinator working across South East Cheshire. My previous experience includes; homelessness and working within hostel settings , drug and alcohol support, domestic violence and refuge work, outreach advice work including benefits and housing and more recently working with carers. My specific areas of interest include carers, disability rights and equality. I am thrilled to be working within the heart of the community and meeting so many amazing people who are supporting others.

Gareth (Wellbeing Coordinator)

I am one of the wellbeing coordinators covering the South area of Cheshire East. I have previously worked within mental health rehabilitation services for the past 6 years and recently qualified as an Occupational Therapist. The best part of my role as a wellbeing coordinator, is seeing the difference even the smallest piece of advice, information or support can have on an individual's life.

Rachel (Wellbeing Coordinator)

My background is Health and fitness and health and wellbeing in supported housing. In Cheshire East the areas I cover are Crewe, Nantwich and rural surrounding villages.

I enjoy musicals and try to visit London at least once a year. I have also visited New York and watched several musicals on Broadway.

I love working with the community and trying to support people in a happier and healthier life.

Holly (Wellbeing Coordinator)

I cover the North of Cheshire East. Having studied Health with Psychology and Public Health at University, I have always had a keen interest on the affect that social inclusion has on a person’s health and wellbeing. In my role at Life Links, I enjoy meeting new people and offering support and advice to help them make the most of their lives.

Stephanie (Wellbeing Coordinator)

I am one of the wellbeing coordinators covering the North of Cheshire East. I have previously worked as a personal assistant for a client with MS and as a senior community support worker for Intermediate Care which is a community based service working with adults. My background is in health and rehabilitation and supervising support workers.

I am very enthusiastic about early intervention and enjoy meeting and helping people to access the services that they need to stay independent and in their own homes.

Outside of work I enjoy travelling to new places, spending time with my family and friends and photography. My new pug puppy also keeps me very busy!

 Mike (Wellbeing Coordinator)

I am one of the wellbeing coordinators covering the South of Cheshire East. Prior to joining Lifelinks, I was involved with a Carers charity as a re-ablement worker for Carers at risk of crisis and also organising and delivering training for Carers. Most of my career has been within manufacturing and engineering, but more recently, personal experiences around dementia and mental health issues, led to a major career rethink and joining the charity / third sector.

I am very passionate about supporting people who are struggling to find their way through the health and social care service minefield. I have a particular interest in the fields of dementia and living well dying well, and am a Dementia Friends Champion as well as a living well dying well ambassador.

Outside of work I enjoy long weekends away, walking, football, rugby league and live entertainment. I am a volunteer with the National Trust and love visiting their various sites.
